Lebanon the State, Government and Army.

Abu Arz's attitude towards the Lebanese government is constant, and aims to make of Lebanon a great State deep-seated in ambition, vigor and social dignity.

However, his attitude regarding the successive Lebanese governments of the past half century was always one of opposition and conflict because of their debilitating shortcomings in all domains: political, social, economic, etc. And Abu Arz is adamant in affirming that the present gruesome situation in which Lebanon was plunged is the direct cause of these successive shortcomings, and this brood of politicians that have monopolized this past half century of governments debased by ignorance, cowardliness, shortsightedness, and personal gain, to the detriment of superior national interests... He goes on to add: the Palestinians, the Syrians, the Iranians and others, would not have dared to harm Lebanon had its politicians possessed a high level of probity, courage, detachment and farsightedness... Abu Arz even goes on to accuse these officials of collusion and conspiracy with the enemies of Lebanon, thereby effectively contributing to shattering this country and eliminating its independence and its sovereignty.

But when General Michel Aoun acceded to the Presidency of the interim government, and declared war against Syrian occupation, the people rose up in his support, marching towards Baabda in such huge numbers as Lebanon had never witnessed before, expressing their support for this brave position, considering him the first official honest and brave declaration that puts a finger on the crisis.

Thereupon, urged by a purely national appeal, and in compliance with his permanent political position against Syrian occupation, Abu Arz decided to support General Aoun, without consideration of personal gain or loss and the immense difference in the balance of power between the two positions. This support consisted in placing the military and political capacities of the Party of the Guardians of the Cedars at the disposal of the military government.

On the military level, Abu Arz urged his combatants and their supporters to enroll in the Army and participate in facing the Syrians on all fronts, in particular the Souk El-Gharb front.

On the political front, he set to establish a new front under the appellation of "The Broad Front of Liberation and Change" to replace the so-called Lebanese Front that had by then collapsed. This new Front united a considerable number of established parties with the aim of providing a political coverage to the General and his military government.
