The
Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
Abu Arz considered that the dense Palestinian presence in Lebanon brought a military confrontation that threatened Lebanon's existence. Thereupon, he not only declared war against them, but requested their ousting from Lebanon in accordance with his well-known slogan: There will not remain a single Palestinian on Lebanese soil. And that for three reasons: firstly, because they declared war against the country that sheltered them for more than half a century, and committed against its people the worst crimes and massacres, in particular in Chekka, Damour, Aychiyeh, Dayr Achach, Tall Abbas and in many other Lebanese cities and villages. Secondly, because their density (about half a million) presents a mortal demographic threat to a country like Lebanon, small in area and in population. Thirdly, their continuous presence represents a time bomb that may explode at any time.
